New Build: Transitional Glam
As a designer, I love watching a project begin from the very beginning. It is fun to come in and redo a space, but there is something unique about having your hands in every detail of a home from the time of conception. As a designer of 14 years, I have learned so much! I get to take all of that experience and pour it into a home that has the potential to be something perfectly curated for the family I am working with.
This particular new build was a dream because my style and the client’s style were so similar. It was almost like creating my own dream home! She loves black and white contrast, and loves for things to be different. Did I mention she loves gold too??? I had the opportunity to work with them on this home from the ground up, so that means all plumbing, layouts, lighting fixtures, statement walls, wallpapers (on the ceilings too!), custom Venetian Plasters, and don’t forget those furnishings. My team and I were able to customize each bathroom and bedroom for each of their kid’s unique personalities, as well as creating some fun family gathering areas in the house.
My favorite part about this new build is the way it all ties together so perfectly and fits their personalities to a tee! The tile in the bathrooms is definitely at the top of my list too!
We decided to go with all black cabinets in the Kitchen instead of our original thought of mixing black and white because of the custom gold metal hood we landed on. It’s a better transition for sure.
This family has a dog and we were able to create the perfect doggy spa in the laundry room. They can bathe their pet in style while keeping the floors dry and the laundry clean.
The vent hood in the kitchen gives me all the feels. My team and I landed on a 3 panel gold metal hood that fit the scale of my client’s ceiling heights perfectly. It’s the center of the room and makes a huge statement.
The hardware and lighting fixtures we chose really compliment the home and while all different, they really tie the whole look together.
The basement is probably the most amazing basement I have ever had my hands in. It has multiple mounted TVs, a waterproof floor, direct access from their outdoor area, the coolest “spider” light you’ve ever seen, some amazing furnishings to accommodate their friends and family. Don’t even get me started on the simulated golf room for the man of the house!
