RECENT PROJECT REVEAL + A COLORFUL TIP

If you know me at all, you know that I love all things black and white with a pop of color!

This space was previously much more traditional, with darker, heavier wood tones and more of a gold tone on the walls. It had a textured brick with a more detailed mantle design. I knew I wanted to incorporate a lot of black and white (the most classic colors) and pop some color, so selecting new wall color, trim color, and cabinet color was very important. We also painted the beams on the ceiling in a black, versus the high gloss dark stain that was previously there. We painted the brick on the fireplace white, and had a clean walnut mantle made. Popping in the green, orange and high contrast patterns transformed this space. I love how this Living Room turned out!

Thankfully, this client trusted me throughout the process even when she wasn’t so sure about the colors we were bringing in at the start. The client said we “brought in color that I would have never chosen on my own. These accent colors are now the best part of my house.”

Adding in pops of color can be as simple as bringing in a variety of botanicals, custom artwork, or pillows. I love how vibrant color can transform a space!

One of my favorite parts of the completed project was the Breakfast Area in the Dining Room. This Breakfast Area needed some color, so we added a lacquered white buffet and an oversized commissioned piece of art (by yours truly) with oranges, blacks, whites, citrons, and even a pop of blue! It’s bright and fun, and a showstopper for sure.
